Much needed time to reflect!

Picture
Hi everyone, very excited to write and publish my FIRST EVER blog for Summit Up!

It was an incredibly productive weekend and a weekend that found me brainstorming into the early hours of the morning on a couple of occasions (we will delve more into this next week).

Let me start by saying, this virus is awful. I have been off work for three weeks and my wife for two. Both of us fortunate in the sense that we have our own businesses but not so lucky having our businesses shut down for the time being per the governors ruling. More importantly, I want to thank all of the doctors, nurses and health care personnel fighting this thing on the front line head on. You are the true hero’s right now.

On a personal note, the silver lining in all this is the fact that my wife Brianna and I have been able to spend unlimited amounts of time together. I guess this is partly why I am not concerned about how everything else will play out. We haven’t had to drive hundreds of miles and we have barely eaten out at restaurants. Although it took just over a week to adapt, we are now in a routine of running together and/or walking our dog for an extended period of time. We have played monopoly and cards. The amount of home cooking and baked goods are a real leveler when paired with the running/walking BUT we are both foodies and just cannot help it!!!!!

In addition to the above, I still find the time to read and also pick up the phone to my mentor and friends I am close with. I am fortunate in my business to have been connected with so many amazing families and enjoy seeing them post on social media. If, on the other hand, you are struggling, I hope this blog will allow you to understand you are not alone. We are all in this together BUT we will emerge stronger, together.

The first image today is from a walk yesterday, very therapeutic and peaceful. I encourage you to get out there and trigger your senses and venture out somewhere you have not been before. The second image is from one of my favorite places to visit when I was a young boy. Haytor, Dartmoor in Devon, England. Devon and Cornwall are counties which possess some of England's most beautiful countryside and scenery. Take a look on google and consider a trip there someday! It's good to dream and good to set goals!

In closing, I urge you to reach out to those close to you. Share your despair and your ideas, no matter how crazy they may seem. If you do not have a support system, I ask that you post in the comments section and enjoy seeing this positive community grow over time.

Until next week, Summit Up! You’ve got this.
